The Spartanburg Soil and Water Conservation District was invited to attend the USC Upstate SC Arbor Day Celebration where our own commissioner, Dr. Jack A. Turner, introduced the keynote speaker; Dr. Bruce Fraedrich. Dr. Fraedrich spoke about the landscape at the 911 memorial and was a member of the organization who selected, planted and maintain the trees at the memorial. A tree planting demonstration was presented to provide information on how to properly plant a tree for its successful survival.
