Grants Available for Septic Repairs
Spartanburg
County's Stormwater Management Department has 319 grant funds
available to help repair
failing septic systems in the North Pacolet, Lower South
Pacolet, and Buck Creek watersheds.
Funding is also available to assist with agricultural projects,
such as fencing to limit livestock access
to creeks. These funds will pay up to 60% for both septic
repairs and agricultural projects. For more
information, contact Spartanburg County Stormwater at

Spartanburg County's Community Development Department also has
Community Development Block Grant
funding to repair failing septic systems for low-income
households, outside of city and town limits throughout
Spartanburg County. These funds will pay 100% of septic
repairs in qualifying households. Contact Spartanburg
County Community Development at 864-596-5309 for more
information.

Envirothon Winners
The SWCD sponsored 3 Spartanburg County high school teams at the SC
Envirothon Competition on May 13, 2011.
We are very pleased to announce that first place went to
Spartanburg High School Team A, second
place went
to Spartanburg High School Team B, and third went to
Spartanburg Day School.
A special congratulations to Spartanburg High's
Team A, who competed in the Canon Envirothon in New Brunswick,
Canada, and won 3rd place, overall. Click
