Bioretention Project at Lyman Lake Lodge

This project has been completed...go check it out at the Lodge!!!

Bioretention is a method to control stormwater runoff (such as sediment, pesticides, oil from parking

lots, etc.) using grass buffers, sand and soils, and native plants as a filter.  In the Lyman Lake project,

stormwater from the Lodge parking lot will be filtered through the bioretention area before entering the

lake, thereby reducing the amount of polluted runoff in the water supply.  This project has finally come

to fruition through the efforts of many partners: SJWD Water District, Spartanburg County, Foothills

RC&D Council, USDA-NRCS, and the Spartanburg SWCD.  Work should begin in Sept. 2011 so check

back for photos and updates on the project.
